The chief executive of telehealth company Doctor Care Anywhere, which aims to raise $102 million in an initial public offering, says the new waves of COVID-19 in Europe are forcing the medical profession to adopt new ways of working using technology even faster.

Dr Bayju Thakar said a profound structural shift already under way was now speeding up. Consultations online for the British group have increased almost fourfold to 20,000 in the past 12 months as both doctors and patients turn to online video calls rather than physically attending a clinic.
